The provocation
Können Kinder beim Laufen lernen schon Zweirad fahren lernen?

Developmental spectrum - walking → balancing → riding
The challenge
RIDE paints the horizon.
Woom chooses the direction.
Woom has spent a decade building one of the most respected premium kids' bike brands in the world. Their next growth question was harder: how do you expand the portfolio into a demographic that can't ride a bike yet?
Not an adjacent product. Not a smaller size. A new entry point - for children still learning to walk.
This was completely new territory. Beyond our comfort zone. We were looking for fresh perspective. That’s exactly why we chose RIDE.

The collaboration
Partners,
not passengers.
Woom didn't come looking for a vendor. Workshops. Hand sketches. A developmental spectrum mapping the years between first steps and first pedal strokes. Material studies. Architectural exploration.
Made to measure, not templated.
RIDE really helps us paint that picture - quite literally - as to where we could go. The difficult part comes in choosing where we should go.
The product
Introducing WOW.
The world's first self-balancing bike. It lets children develop the dynamics, movement, and core skills of cycling before they can ride a traditional balance bike - and long before pedals enter the picture.
Not a toy dressed as a bike. Not a bike shrunk to fit a toddler. A new category, designed from the ground up.
The outcome
The market didn't exist.
Now it does.
WOW didn't just extend Woom's portfolio. It opened a market segment that wasn't there before - and gave Woom first-mover ownership of it.
An earlier entry point into the brand. A competitive edge no one else is currently offering. An outcome measured in category creation, not just category share.
A paradigm shifter.
No one had ever thought about it before.
In their words
Chris and Craig, on building a category that didn't exist.
Seeing what the Woom team made of all of these ideas - and the final product they turned it into - it just looks so cool. I’m so proud of that.
We don't care about design theatrics - we move the needle, and we defend it in the boardroom.
